Litter Question
I've been using the recycled newspaper litter because I read the clay stuff was bad for them to breathe in the dust. However, I heard recently that this isn't the best litter because it can leave your ferret dirty. Plus, I'm not terribly impressed with how heavy it can be. I got some litter at the pet store today called ecofresh. It too is made out of paper but is white (not black) and seems pretty light. Plus it seemed pretty cheap- under $5 for 10 lb, which it said it has an absorbacy power equivelent to 20 lb of the clay litter. Has anyone heard of this litter and know if its good/bad or have any other suggestions to make? What do you guys use?

Kemasa, I use corn cob litter, which I have been told can harvest mites. I guess I have been lucky so far as I have never had a problem in the 4 years I have had my ferrets so far. I have been told though that "carefresh" is wonderful bedding to use as well! I am actually thinking about trying that. It is recycled, shredded paper if I'm not mistaken. It absorbs any liquid & odors, wouldn't hurt to try it, I don't believe it is all that exspensive either. (well it is in comparison to cat litter, which I agree is not good to use for ferrets)

It actually looks like CareFresh makes EcoFresh.

I would be comfortable using it for my chins, so it should be fine for your ferrets. :)
