Missing Bones

My new puppy is obsessed with hiding his bone.
The first one we gave him he hid and we could not find it.
The second bone he took out and buried it in the snow, when we went back out for it later it was gone. I noticed it a few feet away standing upright. The strange thing was the only foot prints around that area was bird prints. Do they eat bones coz the bone was stripped of its marrow.
The third bone he has been trying to hide behind the tv, behind doors and has settled on nestling it between 2 porcelien cat figures I have in the hall.
Silly pup!!!
