We have a calico cat that seems to have developed short term memory problems. We keep dry food out all the time & supplement with a couple of spoonfuls of canned food. When we put the canned food out, she will nibble for a short time & then come & cry to us as if we put nothing extra out for her. we take her & show her the food & that will settle her down for a short time. At her annual check-up, the vet said everything looked ok. She's 13 years old, could it be memory decay? Anyone have suggestions?:wavey:
I think she is going for short term memory loss. Any how wait for few more days to sort this problem on its own.
Hello and welcome. Did your vet do any blood work, or check her blood pressure? Excessive crying can be a sign of hyperthyroid disease, high blood pressure or deafness.
I recommend you take her back to the vet, or another vet, and get the blood work done (including thyroid) and have her blood pressure checked.
13 is senior, but not that old that dementia would be setting in.
