So I was doing homework today, and I looked at my fish tank. I have just a few minnows. One of the minnows had gotten caught in my filter! I was super suprised because this has never happened before! I unplugged the filter, and the minnow manadged to free itself. It swam around upside down for about two minutes and then righted itself and began to swim (Mostly) normally again. Will my fish suffer any ailments from this accident?
A healthy minnow shouldn't get caught but it's possible the filter is too strong. I'd turn it down a bit if it's adjustable. Another safeguard would be to stretch the material from a nylon stocking over the filter intake.
If he's swimming normally and eating then I wouldn't worry . Does he have any injuries?
Yes, thanks for your suggestions. I fed my fish this morning, and he seems to be eating and swimming normally. I think I may have to just reduce the filter strength.
He's probably a very curious or playful fish, good to hear he's just fine.
