I've agreed to build an indoor rabbit hutch for a friend and I need some advice on the construction as I've never built a home for a living creature before.
I'm looking at constructing something similar to this: [edit: link deleted] although smaller, more simplified, and with a flat roof...
Not a brilliant pic. Tank is still quite cloudy (had a blonde moment lol. Washed a bucket of gravel, had it sitting beside a dirty bucket of gravel, you can guess which one i used!) but anyway it gives you an idea of how it looks. I'll update with another pic once its clear :)
I'm setting up another tank and wanted a way to separate the plant substrate from the sand i want to use at the front (for my cories) So i decided to build a wall, quite pleased how it turned out actually
All that was used was foam, silicon and black quartz sand.
Our degus love to CHEW:yes: ( they have already destoyed the wooden house we bought for them ) and their interest in things is short livd once they know how to use things, so DIY toy ideas anyone???
We just picked up 4 degus last night. It is the first time we have had any but I have done a lot of reading on how to keep them before hand.
The cage they came with is fairly large (about 4ft high, 2ft wide by 1.5ft deep) but has mesh shelves and IMO isnt big enough for 4 of them...
