I'm fairly new to aquarium ownership, so I asked the advice of a pet store associate (of course a bad idea). I got my water tested and everything seemed average. So I bought a couple different types of fish that are "compatable".
My boyfriend definitely wanted silver tipped sharks or columbian...
I bought some new fish today and now my tank's not so empty anymore. :) I could only get them from walmart and they had barely anything today so I didn't have much to choose from.
Here's what I have now(including the 2 that survived the ich):
1 - dojo loach (Wormdude:D)
2 - tiger barbs
I check on my fish tank twice a day and yesterday night, I noticed that one of my tiger barbs was missing. I looked everywhere, but it was gone. I'm guessing that he was killed and eaten, but wouldn't there be a least a little bit of the fish in the water. The other fish wouldn't eat the whole...
I decided to buy some more fish yesterday and a new aquarium decoration. I bought two tiger barbs and two pink kissing gourami. It was hard to take pics of them, but they didn't turn out too blurry.
Here's my tank before:
This is the new decoration:
I had brought a tiger barb to be with the other ones that i have in my tank. i had made a 25% water change before i had introduced him. When i did, he went straight to the floor of the tank and it just layed on the gravel like it was dieing. it finally rejuvinated it self but now it does not...
I've had my barbs for quite a few months now and when I first got them they looked the same. Now one of them has a red nose and red on the top fin while the other one doesn't and is a lot fatter.
Is it pregnant, fat or is something wrong with it? It's been big like this for a long time like 2...
How many fish do you have and what kind?
1 glowlight tetra
1 pencil tetra
2 tiger barbs
2 baby badi
3 frogs (ok technically not fish but aquatic still..lol)

Sasami you could proabably answer this question, I hope :D
I took a video of it cuz it's too hard to explain. Some kinda weird dance, lol. And the smaller barb goes really pale sometimes and within a few minutes is really bright again? One more question...why do they sleep vertical, like with...
I got 2 bunches of plants for my tropical tank about 2 days ago from PetSmart. They are really pretty...pretty light and dark green with a really pretty bright purple on the underside of the leaves. They sprout little roots quite readily and the fish seem to be enjoying having them in the talk...
i think im gonna get some fish tomorrow.. david was talking about wanting to go do something, so we might goto the city catch a movie and visit a pet store.. if nothing else comes up anyway..
so if i do get some fish, how many should i get? i know its not good to put too many fish in a new...
This morning as i was giving my fishies their breakfast i ran for my camera to try to get some good shots of my peacock eel, who is eating voraciously now, so that i could share them.
He is quite fast so i did the best i could. You can also see some of my Gourami and tiger barbs and clown...
I have a tropical tank set up for a while now and i currently have 2 tiger barbs, 2 clown loaches, 1 Peacock Eel, 1 Opaline Gourami (male) and 1 Gold Gourami (female).
I HAD a power blue dwarf Gourami (male), a Gold male Gourami and another dwarf Gourami (male) that my Opaline Gourami killed...
Meet my new peacock eel..Slimy!
He is zippity fast!!
I like his tail! You can see the "peacock" spots on his tail is where he gets his name from.
He is very active and it was hard for me to get a good pic of his cute little face.
Note- I found out that they are called peacock "eel"...
OK! so I have been researching a lot about aquariums and their prices ect.. I have learned a lot.
I got a 65 gallon aquarium yesterday, filter, and a screen lid, as well as a compact flourescent lighting system that will deliver 5watts per gallon
I have found that the best deals in aquariums...
We've decided to set up our 29gal, because well waiting till after we move could be forever.. theres like nothing to rent around here that allows pets :( So we decided if we do move, we'll just deal with moving it..
so we did the easy part, we set it up, filled it, played with the bubbles...
