The parade was shorter this year 46 entries, down from 61,one reason being no advertising allowed on floats which left our hockey team the Clarington Eagles out even though all the bands and the Sea and Air Cadres wore uniforms and in a parade in Oshawa,Ontario later in the day their team the Generals walked in the parade wearing uniform tops and a girls ringette rode on their float wearing uniform tops, another reason was the steep $500 entry fee and the Central public School band was not in it due to an ongoing dispute between the teacher's union and the provincial government, teachers aren't doing after school activities and this was one of them.
