adopted cat

I got a cat fronbthe humane society so he is fixed and chipped but he always wants outside. we usually leave our window cracked for him to get in and out because if we lock him.in the house he attacks us then when we let him out he goes does his thing and comes back and is sweet again but now its getting ok cold for the window.to be open . what could we do to k him from attacking us
