You need to make a list of what you have, and what you plan to have.

Search the internet, particularly reptile specific forums.

Don't just go and ask like you did here. Do your own research, and confirm it by looking at the California laws themselves. Another place to look is: http://www.animallaw.com/LawSearch.cfm

For clarification, you should be able to call the local Fish & Wildlife department for the area you are planning on moving too and ask them about the reptile laws.
Which will help with the state laws, but also call the county office for the county that you are moving to, ditto the municipal (city) office for the city into which you are moving....and with larger cities, like LA, find out if the borough/suburb into which you are moving, has its own laws. Some gated communities (and certainly condos) have their own rules and restrictions, too. Bear in mind that 100% of the responsibility is yours...research exhaustively, as losing your pets and gaining fines is never a fun ride.

If you are purchasing a house, be careful with your insurance company...many insurance companies will not issue homeowner insurance if they know that you own reptiles or certain exotic animals (and dog breeds).

Good point...local reptile societies in the area in which you plan to move likely have the info you need.
