Any chihuahua owners excited for the new movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua? I think it looks cute, and love all the talking dongs in the trailer. It sort of gives me a homeward bound type story feel.

I am not a fan of chihuahuas. However IF the lips on the dogs didn't move,I may be tempted to watch it.However I cannot get past the fact their lips move fakely...
So going to see it - c'mon people it has talking dogs!!!!And rats, and an iguana lol

I love the rat 'Don't eat me I have a wife and 300 kids to feed' lol

I didn't know there was a rat in it...I will watch it for the rat! Hahahaha...kidding.

I really hate how the lips move!
If the lips didn't move,I would prolly see it.
I LOVE Homeward Bound and in that the animals lips were not moving from annoying computer animations.I think it look stupid.Like I said,if the lips were not moving...then I would maybe see it.
I have to go see it. I'm not a huge fan of animal movies like that but it looks hilarious.

The only thing I find sad though is that a lot of people are going to rush out and get chihuahuas. It happened for 100 dalmatians also.

There is a discussion in a dog forum I am in about this. And it's true.EVERYONE will want a chihuahua after this...there are gonna be alot of mill pups bred and the shelters will be full of chihuahuas in no time.

I am already seeing ads for chi pups and chi mix pups! :(
I found this to be very interesting on the topic of dog purchases after a film. I read Disney is taking notice of this and has donated both premiere and after-party tickets to an auction where all proceeds will benefit The Rescue Train. Of course I'm not suggesting that this will eradicate the problem but I think it shows awareness and responsibility that the film is supporting such a cause.
Whose excited to see the film this upcoming weekend? It gets released this Fri, and I'm so excited to see all those talking dogs!
no i wont go watch it.im not going to support such an obvious **** for money and attention on keeping little dogs as accessory items...Beverly Hills? that cant be a good thing to suggest to kids who are easily influenced by what they see.yeas and the fact that there will be an inflation in the breeding and demands for these dogs until the fad wears off...i would probably be less critical if it was a cartoon..drawn animlas are less inviting than a real live chihuahua!!
I think, at least around where I am, that there was already a chihuahua fad going on even before anyone knew about the movie. They're really popular around here, and I see a lot of them listed on craigslist or on shelter websites. But yeah, it will probably get worse when the movie comes out.
I am also not going to see it.

Yeah and there are already chihuahua and chi-mix breeders popping up everywhere, but because of this movie...it will get worse.
not to mention the breeding frenzy to keep up with the celebrity craze, paris?? need i say more?
Saw it over the weekend... loved it. Really a cute movie! The story is really fun and very Homeward Bound-ish. It's really great for any dog lover/owner. And any line that Andy Garcia has is just hilarious!
Not sure if i wanna see this. Its doing well in the box office tho, but it seems silly. Maybe i will take my niece and my little brother to see it though.
my daughter is going to go see it...her and her best friend are going this weekend
I actually can't see it in theatres, but I will watch it when it comes out on DVD/ satellite.Reason being; I live too far from a theatre, but I absolutely love animal movies as long as its not a sad story& no animals get hurt!
As with animal fads, thats been going on for a long time,& I agree...movies don't make it better,yet..I don't think it makes it that much worse either.Any true animal lover isn't going to jump on the bandwagon & get a certain breed because of a movie,& without researching...if someone does that, they simply shouldn't be allowed pets.Period.
yes but i live close enough to the housing parts of town and there are alot of easily influenced people there and ALOT of kids who say and believe they are true animal lovers given that they are not good caretakers for animals. i can see the kids wanting the dogs but rasing it in totally the wrong way. oh,ive seen it and it breaks my heart.
Little piece of info I found out today.
The chihuahuas in the movie are rescue dogs. And the lead dog was actually rescued the day before he was to be put down.

Just thought I would leave that tidbit of info.
Yea- read that too. Thought that was awesome of Disney to do, and just a classic feel good story.
