I have two fantails that I thought were male becaue they both have breeding stars on their gills and pectoral fins (well my calico fantail, Panda doesn't have any on his gills) but when I was cleaning the filter I realized there were some sort of sticky egg like things on it's side so now I'm very confused. I mean Mapache the red fantail is much rounder than Panda but his breeding stars are soo obvious that unless I've got it all wrong and females can get them too I don't really see what it could be. Can anyone explain this to me? Thank you.

are the eggs white, if so they are unfertilized, if they show an orange color they are fertilized
