I've been having major bad luck with mine LOL. First I bought a Exo-Terra UTH for my hermit crabs, but it wasn't strong enough to heat through the sand. So I peeled it off and returned it, and got a Zilla brand one instead. They looked more durable, like the Zoomed ones! I put it on last night the bottom of the tank last nigt... A few hours later, it somehow managed to fall off!

TBH I don't want to return it, because if it can come off with out being damaged that means I can re-use it on other tanks. :p (Yes, I'm that cheap.) Would it be safe to use masking tape or black electical tape to stick it on the bottom? And other ideas?

Masking tape will get brittle quickly, and electrical tape will get soft and gooey....you can use duct tape with excellent results (I have many times myself), but it will not be easy to remove later.

I've used (and am currently using) electrical tape to attach UTH's to my leo tanks and have never had any problems doing so. It didn't get soft and gooey.
You are fortunate, but then are likely using very low watt UTH units.

My UTH is only 8 watts, so I don't think it would get too horribly sticky with the electrical tape? Thanks guys! :)
