hi
i'm getting a new tropical freshwater tank soon and the tank will be between 60 and 80 litres and i hav my heart set on getting some clown loaches but i don't know if the tank will be big enough.:confused::confused::confused:

Sorry, but that's too small :(. Consider kuhli loaches, there are yellow and black striped ones. They may remind you a bit of clown loaches but are much smaller.

Clown loaches grow to be a foot long and should be kept in groups so they need a ton of space.

Even more, given time....I was fortunate to work with a group of clowns that ranged from 10"-16"...they required hundreds of gallons. Now, it does take many years to raise a clown loach to 16", but it takes very little time to get them to 6", and a school of six 6" clown loaches need a lot of room (100 gallons/400 liters+), and are quite active, potentially disturbing other fish and certainly plants and decor.

thanks for the reply's i just got my tank today and i saw some of the loaches there. But do kuli loaches get along with inverts thanks.

Generally, yes. If you had intended on inverts with clowns, the clown loaches would have made them vanish in very short order.
