I have a 5 year old male, who is the sweetest little guy. But I'm so worried because he recently started crying when I pick him up and pet him.

About 7 months ago he went through a 8 week period of not being able to use his back legs. Whats happening now was what happened to him right before he stopped being able to walk 7 months ago.

Last time he went through this he had to be confined in a dog bed and I don't want him to have to go through that again.

I was wondering if anyone knows what I can do to help him before he goes into another period of not being able to walk.

Have you taken him to the vet? I think that overweight dachshunds can have back problems.

We have and they just gave him muscle relaxers and said to try to limit his activities. He is not over weight, I think he was injured with my big footed boyfriend stepped on his paw...
