Has anyone talked to their vet about Feline pine (non-clumping)? I’ve used it for a little over a year now and have not noticed any problems. But my cousin told her vet she was using it and her vet told her it’s bad for them and seemed very concerned. Everything I read online says it’s healthy for them as long as it’s not shavings. Any thought on this?

Pine has phenols in it, and rabbits and cats can suffer from phenol poisoning. Some processes remove phenol, which is what happens during the processing of Feline Pine.

Kiln dried pine shavings are safe, again because of the processing. I found that the best place for me to buy affordable litter is at Fleet Farm in the horse section. They carry litter pellets, much like Feline Pine, and Aspen by the bale for a fraction of the price you would have to pay in a pet store.
