I have been a bit worried about Freddie over the lst few days. He can no longer hold himself and ahs been weeing in the house. Then today he squatted in the dog bed and wee'd almost pure blood. I obviously immediately rang the vet and he is going in this afternoon. He is also weeing alot more often, sometimes without anything coming out.
My guess is a kidney/urinary infection. hopefully we have caught it in the early stages.

I wil lupdate you all once he has been to the vets

:(:(:(

Well we think its cistitis. We cant be sure yet but he is on antibiotics and i am gonna keep an eye on him over the next few days, hopefully it wil lclear up on its own. If not more tests need to be done.

yes best wishes. ask your vet about cat foods that have a low ash content. it helps with those infections

that sounds more like the start of kidney stones/crystals that hides itself in cystitis..my poor old gal was living on antibiotics and one day they xrayed her and told me it was bad news her kidneys were so full and disintegrating from stones and crystals..she had an op and survived on pills and shots happily for another year..she will have been gone a year next week.
dont ever be afraid to ask about having a kidney function test..a simple blood test will tell if the BUN levels indicate kidney problems..

good luck..its a hard thing to witness when they pee blood and lose control:(

That's what I was thinking. My poor cat had urinary crystals but only showed symptoms (straining with no urine coming out) until it was too late. They couldn't even catheterize him. He passed away. Our other cat had them as well (his symptoms were mostly peeing blood) but a switch of cat food solved the problem really quickly.

Best of luck and I hope your kitty is feeling better soon :)
