"Lennox Receiving Death Sentence For Looking Like A Pit Bull"
Belfast, U.K. – At just 5 yrs of age, a Labrador/American bulldog mix named Lennox has been ripped from his family and sentenced to death…even though he has never done anything wrong.
Lennox, owned by his family since he was just a small puppy, was seized by the Belfast City council in May, 2010, as a result of the way that he looked.
It did not matter that Lennox had never done anything wrong. It did not matter that his responsible family had him neutered, licensed and micro-chipped – all that mattered to the council members was that he “looked like a Pit bull”.
Yes, breed specific legislation that outlaws the so called “dangerous breed” from residing in Ireland. Beyond being banned – the council wants Lennox put to death.
Isn’t it ironic that this same city happily accepted licensing fees from the family for the so-called “Pit bull type” of dog for five years?
Thousands are outraged over Lennox’s current situation – in fact, at the“Save Lennox” Facebook page, there are over 27,000 supporters that have joined in the fight to save his life.
Lennox has been separated from his family for nearly a year now. The once happy and carefree family dog is now a prisoner that lives on a sawdust covered floor with no interaction from the people that he loves.
A judge recently sided with the Belfast City Council – ordering death to the innocent dog.
Supporters continue to rally for Lennox – standing behind the dog that is being judged solely by his looks, not by his temperament.
Such prejudice is heart-breaking and unjust. To join in the efforts to save Lennox, please click here. Please help take a stand against this outright discrimination.
Please join in the fight to save this innocent dog and share his story with others – there is strength in numbers.
