Great idea! A ratty pinata, great for keeping them curious and interested for brain exercise. I think Breyer did something like that for her boys' birthday awhile back? :)

Yeah I am trying to think of cheap fun toys :) I have a whole list of furniture just no toys lol Homemade are fun esp since I can make mini's not for the hams

Yep, it is so funny and amaxzing how much rats and mice will love something homemade and often ignore fancy store bought toys. I have had that experience myself! :D

I'm actually very lucky in that my hamsters and cat are like that as well :)

If you want a really fun, but very messy "toy" hang up a small roll of toilet paper (NOT a full roll) and leave the end hanging...it will end up filling up your cage but wow they will have a Blast doing it! :D

or you could be really nice and let your comforter touch their cage, where those little monkey paws can reach it!
