Hey all,
Joanne, the woman who runs our local rat rescue (Best Friends Rodent Rescue or BFRR) in Kenmore, Washington, posted this very cute slideshow/music video on her Facebook page, to the delight of rat lovers everywhere. A must see. :)

(Set to the theme of Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl", ha ha)

Enjoy, and I hope the link works!

This is epic. I needed this tonight. LOL!
Awesome, glad it hit the spot for you Story! Super eh? Ahhh....me loves ratties SOOO much...I is their slave.

By the way, what is Beapher (sp?) malt paste? Saw that reference in the video to that and it sounds delicious, but I hadn't heard of that before. Ratty nom?
Here's a link for it:

It looks like ratty crack. Apparently they'll do anything for it, and it's good for distracting, bribing, and nutrition supplement when dealing with loss of appetite.

I'm not seeing where it's sold in the US/Canada though.
Ah ha! Now I remembered that one of my rat books by Debbie Duccomen (sp?) talked about a paste made for ferrets that rats go bonkers for. This is it! Thanks Story, now that makes sense. :)
Hahaha, I love this! It's adorable AND hilarious!!!!! :D
Ha ha, I am glad you got to see this Breyer, as I knew you would love it! Makes me want to go kiss my boys every time I see it. :sneakyhug
Yeah!! hehehe! I have been so busy with the end of the semester, grading, and packing for the move that I haven't been around here much! But thanks for sharing this! :D:D:D
Glad you liked it! How are your little ratties doing these days?
Hi!! They are hanging in there. They still have a little ringworm, but we are taking it one day at a time. They love their marshmallow flavored medicine, and really DON'T like their baths. I learned to wear a long sleeve jacket with elastic cuffs to protect my arms. Poor guys!
I just got them a new cage, one that is 2X2 and 3 levels high. They LOVE it. They have really calmed down and stopped snipping at each other. I think they got too big for their old cage. They even snuggle and sleep together again.
They have also gotten really good at terrorizing our Shar-pei. I will let them have the run of most of the downstairs and I will watch one of them creep up on him and nip his ankle. Poor puppy!
Hat has started sharing his breakfast with me which I love. All in all they are GREAT!
Thanks :)

Vladina- I finally was able to upload some pictures of the little guys. They were taken a few months ago. I will be taking a few new ones soon! Hat "lost" his hat. As he got older his markings changed and he has Siamese Cat markings now. He's GORGEOUS!
I would love to see photos! Where did you post them, or have you not posted them yet?

Glad your kids are doing great, that is good to hear.

I was going to ask about how your ratties hate baths...most of the time rats do not need to be bathed since they keep themselves so clean with daily grooming and if their ratty house is kept clean, but once in awhile if they seem to get a bit stinky smelling, did you ever try just wiping them down with an unscented perfume free baby wipe, like the kind you get in the baby supply section of your supermarket or drug store? I have never had to actually bath my rats with water...just once in awhile I wipe them each down with a baby wipe and that's it. They don't mind a wipe down but I know a lot of rats hate getting water baths.
I posted them on my profile. I took a few tonight, but they won't get posted for a few days.
About the bathing- I have to bathe them twice a week in Miconizole shampoo for a couple more weeks until the next culture comes back on their ringworm.
Never a dull moment!
Oh my gosh, I am SO sorry! I didn't know you had to bathe them for ringworm, so there ya go...I just thought it was general bathing stuff, so sorry! Sheesh, I better do my background post reading next time, eh? Well, I hope their culture comes back with good news! Hang in there little buddies...Send them kisses from me! :)

That's the exact same thing that happened to Hector. I picked him out because he had this champaigne colored U shape on the top of his head and his nose, and as he got older it faded, his nose now has a dark smudge.
Yeah! Isn't that funny? Mine looks like a Siamese Rat with his seal colored points.
