Hi, I have absolutely no experience with reptiles or amphibians and I was thinking of getting a salamander as a pet. Before considering it more seriously, I have a few basic questions:

1) Which are terrestrial and which aquatic?

2) Are terrestrial salamanders easier to keep (I don't have an aquarium and they're rather expensive, so I'd probably prefer a terrestrial one)?

3) Also, I asked a petstore about axolotls and they said their price varies depending on their size. I thought axolotls have one size?

Anyway, I'd appreciate any list of salamander types and which are easier for a begginer.

thanks!

I only have experience with aquatic species (and I wouldn't consider myself successful, honestly, since their lifespans were supposed to be longer) but this is another helpful website: http://www.caudata.org
