Is my new bunny bonding already?

Don't know if you all saw my post but I just aquired a 6 week old Lionhead bunners last Friday. It seems as though she has already begun to bond with me. She follows me and runs circles around me and when she poops herself out from binkys she bunny flops right next to me every time. She loves to nudge me when i kiss to her. She will run up to me and nudge my lips and then binky away. I am trying my best to make every expeirience joyful and rewarding. Unfortunatly I cannot offer her any treats for a reward yet because of her age so she is rewarded with soft pets and kisses. This seems to work for now. She loves her pets from anyone too.

So far she has ahd lots of couch time and some open floor time.

What are your thoughts?

That's pretty typical of baby rabbits. Once they become adolescents they'll tend to become less clingy. I find a lot of rabbits get dumped at our rescue because they're purchased as babies when they're adorable and have a tendency to stick to one person and be very friendly and then when they mature they become more aloof and independent and sometimes even aggressive if they're not altered.
That is what my take is on it as well. So sad that people would give up on a family member like that. I am in high hopes that she will stay sweet. aloof is ok with me and slightly independent is ok too. I think we all enjoy time to ourselves and I will respect that. I can tell when she wants out of her HUGE cage to play because she will follow me and make eye conact and rear up in her cage and almost reach out to me. She gets very excited LOL I open the cage to see if she wants to come out on her own but so far she loves to be picked up to be taken out because when I put my hand in she jumps into my hand. I am expecting that to fade with age but will cherish it while it lasts. I have never had a baby bunny that was so into people. When I was in 4H and showed my rabbits they were all so distant even as babies. She will of course be altered the appropriate age and so will my Flemish Giant. They are both very young. This is such a great expeirience and am loving every moment of the baby stages.

I got Speckle at 8 weeks and she was just as you described your new bun to be, let me tell you this will change. When Speckle was a baby she would follow me around, she would come up to me to pet her, she was so attached to me, she's about 4 1/2 months now and she's definitely not the same bun, she doesn't follow me around anymore, she doesn't want me to pick her up, she hardly tolerates me petting her LOL, she's a teen bunny now and I expected all of this so I'm not really surprised, she's still my baby though, even with her temper tantrums.
Yes, I expect it. Loooove them all anyways :) I can always cross my fingers for one of those very rare still lovey bunnies at all ages. Tehehehe

Flemish on the otherhand are so different. They are so much more laid back and the personality is quite different even as adults.
I wish I had enough room for a big bun, but unfortunately, that's not possibly at the moment, maybe someday!
Aw, I think due to Acacia's byb home she just never got to bond right with people. I think the kids living there scared her more than they did socialise her :( I love my picky bunny. Once you get over the distant relationship, you develop a different kind of bond. Matt disagrees. It takes a special kind of person to want to keep such a snotty brat :p I love my Acacia berry and wouldn't give her up for the world. I'm glad you both are the same with Speckle and your new lionhead :D
I think a big part of is that I really do enjoy just sitting there and watching them or laying on the floor and letting them climb on me, Speckle loves to climb on my back when I'm cleaning the condo and stand up on her back legs and look around, it's the funniest thing ('cept when she doesn't wanna get off). Also, I do get some pets in at least once a day, I'm hoping that as time goes by she'll be a little more friendly, she's definitely my little brat.
Don't give up hope for the sweet after-bunny! I've never had a baby bun (Hamm was a year when I got him) but Hamm is sweet in his own way. He still nudges me for pets and likes licking my pants. Whenever I give him the full body massage it's hilarious to see him hunker down cuz he looks like a giant fuzzball with a tiny head.

Maybe I'm just weird in that I like the aloofness. It's one of the reasons I don't like dogs that much. My cats will come to me when they want love, my bunny will nudge my leg when he wants pets, but otherwise they're off doing their own thing.

I'm exactly the same way, dogs are too needy for me, rabbits do their own thing but I can still get some bunny luv when needed lol
For sure. I love my old geezer dog but there are some mornings I wake up and just hate that I have to go outside right away.
