I have been reading everyone's posts and i think my brother's hamster has a tumor he is just over 3, and i would like to say to people that have this problem with their hamster that if they are acting normally-running around, standing on their hind legs and washing themselves- they are in no pain and should not die from it and die of elderlyness, but if they are not washing, running and standing on their hind legs maybe even running and hiding from you they are in pain but not alot, if there is a sort of crack in the swollen lump thing then they may be in a lot of pain and i advise that you put them out of their pain and let them go to the hamster wheel in the sky- but that is up to you
please stay in touch with your hamsters and i will stay in touch about my brothers
GOOD LUCK all my best to you xxx:)

You might find a better response if you post it under the Hamster section.
