Hi, we are trying to decide whether getting a miniature poodle puppy would work for our family. I work outside the house, while my husband works from home. However, due to the nature of my husband's work, the puppy would need to be in a largish x-pen with a crate and toys for about 4 hours each day, on and off. Would it be too upsetting for the puppy if someone (my husband) was actually in the room with the puppy but the puppy was still confined to the x-pen? Thanks.

Puppies are not known for being quiet when they are not sleeping. If quiet isn't a concern then I would think that being in the same room would be ideal while the puppy is in it's pen.

Depending on how young the puppy is 4 hours will be a big order for no piddles in the house. So expect a few accidents but it seems like it's a great scenario given that some folks take in a puppy and leave it confined for over 10 hours.
