My six month old kitten, Lola, seems to be loosing her fur! I rescued her from a shelter when she was three months old and she was very fluffy. In the last few weeks her fur as been getting really thin. She doesn't have any bald spots but I'm kind of worried about how thin he fur is getting. None of my other cats are experiencing the same problem. Should I be concerned... or is this normal for a kitten that's maturing in to her adult coat?

I think she needs to see a vet ASAP. She might have ticks that might eventually affect your other cats or some other condition that can be treated.

Well she did have fleas but was just treated for those with Front-line a few days ago... Maybe that was the problem.

That could be an explanation. Her hair loss should then stop as soon as the fleas are all gone and any irritation they may have caused heals up.

There is also a genetic condition that causes kittens to lose their hair, and other conditions such as fungus, mites, etc. that can be causing it so keep an eye on her. If it doesn't improve soon then she should see a vet. (Has she seen a vet since you got her?)

No see hasn't seen a vet yet, but she has an appointment next week. She seems like she has improved since she was treated for fleas.

Fleabite allergy may be the cause of her fur loss. Hair loss might be due to oxoplasmosis also. By the time you might have taken her to a vet. Is she okay now?
