There is a thread here about movie genres that you like...so I decided to do the opposite. Are there any genres you DON'T like?

I will normally watch anything...however the genre I cannot stand is romance.Romance movies are really sappy and lame. They are not my cup of tea.Oh and I am generally not a chick flick fan either.

How bout you guys?

I'm not a big fan of romances either...they tend to be boring.

Also, I'm really picky with sci-fi movies and don't like many of them.
I hate romantic comedy, most war films and any film that is excessively, unecessarily violent. I mainly watch French, Italian and Spanish films though, these are all a bit more to my taste then what's considered "mainstream" in most places.
I will not watch horror movies. Why fill your head with trash like that?! There is enough sick stuff in the world and i wouldn't want to sit thru a movie watching it....ever! There is enough of it on the news everyday.
I honestly dunno
I do like some Romance (loved Titantic& Romeo& Juliet)
...so I honestly don't know what to say!
I normally just watch anime.horror.weird-ish movies.& Sci-fi.
Some romantic comedies though...get.on.my.nerves.
& Although I like horror...I can't watch it alone :p
I am not a fan of dumb comedies...not regular comedies, but the spoof kind that make no sence...I am usually the only one who hasn't seen those types but I am just not a fan...

I am a huge fan of old movies with doris day, sandra dee and so many others lol...I love funny movies that have a story line behind them and **** I will watch most movies just can't seem to like the comedies that are all about spoofing movies or are just so far out there...

geez I sound like a dork lol
I watch pretty much anything. I don't put up with a lot of musicals or modern movies though. Action movies can be entertaining, but a lot of the time they have the same plot.
I can't watch Horror movies. They give me nightmares, lol. Some thrillers are okay though. I really like the story lines of the movies, but they freak me out way too much. Most Sci-fi's are pretty boring to me as well. I mainly watch comedy's. I like some romance comedy's, but not if they have too much romance.
Wow surprised to hear all the comments about horror. I love it.

I can like every type of movie I guess, except for musicals. I want a story, not a music video.

 :eek2:  Please tell me where you live, I don't want to move anywhere that has zombies!

I can't really say that there's a genre that I don't like. Romance is probably my least favorite, but I love a well-made film, regardless of it's genre.
no zombies here...lol....where i live isnt that bad.

Its just the really bad things you see in the news in general everyday all around the world that is just sick or very sad...and that's just about everywhere in one shape or form.
The sickos out there are....really sick! I bet they love watching horror movies and sometimes i think those kind of movies just give them more ideas or make them even more sick in the head.
Also a lot of those types of movies have demonic overtones and can be envolved in spiritistic things. Another thing i don't want to be part of in any way.

You are what you eat, goes the saying. Everything you take in, be in physically, mentally, emotionally or visually etc.. does effect you in one way or another. But it's everyones choice as to what they like to watch, i'm not putting anyone down. Its just my choice not to watch that type of thing.

Agreed. I don't watch horror movies for those same reasons. Especially when messing with demonic stuff, just not something I am willing to risk. I usually just shake my head when I see the previews for the new stuff that they come up with, it just goes to far. Pretty much anything else is OK with me, some war stuff is to much for me just because I know all that stuff really happened and it's not just Hollywood stuff.
i mostly like everything...there are a few movies i didn't like of course but from various genres so i cannot just pick a genre... :)

i'm an easy going person, but most of the time i dont PREFER action/busy movies... :) i'll watch them but choose a disney movie over the action/drama/horror anyday ;)
i dislike horror flicks, getting freked out isn't my idea of fun, plus they all seem repetitive nowadays. like let's see how many deaths, gore and zombies we can throw in. meh, i like scary rollercoaster rides tho
Horror is about the only thing i avoid....not particulary keen on war type movies either, but have watched some
I dislike horror movies and most thrillers. Cheesy comedy's, and Sappy chick flicks.

Honestly though in the past 5 years or so the movie industry/Hollywood haven't produced much of anything worth watching. Every time I pay my $10 to see a move, I leave very disappointed (even to movies that are supposed to be good). We rarely even rent "new releases" anymore because it isn't even worth my time to watch anything these days.

I wish I could be transported back to when movies actually had substance and weren't thrown together in front of a green/blue screen with a bunch of special effects added in to try and distract you from a sucky plot, and people who call themselves Actors, but really only got the job because they are anorexiclly thin and pretty to look at. I would rather watch an "ugly" person who can act over a "beautiful" person who can't. I feel like Hollywood has said to the general public ... "Look, Look, it is shiny and pretty and full of digitally created special effects, you must watch it" and like fools we go and watch bad movie after bad movie and don't hold them accountable for the trash they subject us to.

If you can deal with subtitles, I'd suggest getting a Netflix account and starting to rent some of the newer foreign releases. Europe and Asia are still making great, plot driven movies that are really enjoyable.
I don't really have a genre I dislike.

I don't like extremely gory movies. Scary movies are good, just not gory, bloody ones.
I used to be able to say i like all movies.. but i cant watch alot of war movies, i think its mostly since my brother first went over to iraq, it made me think too much of all the things that Could happen to him.. i mean if theres a good storyline i can watch it ok.. but most of them i cant.

i also dont like movies where its just like one person taking on like 1000 bad guys, and somehow they always win, it annoys the crap outta me. Alot of shooting movies are just kinda boring to me. And i dont mind horror movies, as long as there not too graphic.. i cant watch saw 2.. i used to be able to handle that kind of stuff, i mean i watched the first one ok, but i cant bring myself to watch the second one. i secretly love old movies and musicals.. as long as they have a good storyline to go along with it.. and as long as there not in black and white.. i dunno why but black and white movies put me to sleep.. i can watch the same movie in color, then watch it in black and white and i'll have to force myself to stay awake :giggle:

I am suprised to see alot of people don't like horror.I LOVE it.But to each their own.

I just remembered,I also dislike war movies and westerns! They bore me and I cannot sit still or stay quiet during them. One of my sister's is big time into war movies, because of the history and man if she asks me to watch one,I run! Only because that kind of movie does not interest me.

But someone mentioned there are not many super good movies anymore...I have to add, thats because they are running out of ideas!
