I don't know if anyone else has this?

We seperated the gerbils a little while ago, so now they're in two cages next to each other. Lolli, my new kitten, goes on top of the cages and sleeps. When the gerbils are about she'll jump up to the cage and poke her nose against the bars, and the gerbils will come up to her and sniff her back; it's like they're coming up to say hello.

Sometimes, one of the gerbils will be sitting in her foodbowl, and Lolli will come running up, and batting at the cage to play and the gerbil will look at her, sniff her, and then continue to eat. They really don't seem bothered by her at all.

That's nice :) My old kitty Dusti used to act the same way around our pet mice. He also slept by the cages and watched them. Just be careful if kitty don't get too excited and stick a nail in there!

Cute.

My old cats used to do the same with my rats, only the rats were highly offended and would bite the cats through the bars...it came to a point where the cats didn't want anything to do with the rats! :)

Too cute! I have a feeling my Luna would be like that...she just doesn't seem to have that "killer instinct." :p

Last night was cute; Lolli was asleep on top of Button's cage [the gerbil in the picture] and Button climbed up the side of her cage to get to the top and try to see what Lolli was doing :p
