I don't know if anyone else has this?
We seperated the gerbils a little while ago, so now they're in two cages next to each other. Lolli, my new kitten, goes on top of the cages and sleeps. When the gerbils are about she'll jump up to the cage and poke her nose against the bars, and the gerbils will come up to her and sniff her back; it's like they're coming up to say hello.
Sometimes, one of the gerbils will be sitting in her foodbowl, and Lolli will come running up, and batting at the cage to play and the gerbil will look at her, sniff her, and then continue to eat. They really don't seem bothered by her at all.
