I have a Fancy Mouse. Mice. The other night i went to check up on him to see how things are going like usual. he was curled up in a ball in a random place in the cage. and it scared me cause thats how my hamster died, random place and in a ball. So i poked him to wake him up, and he did, BUT he stretched out like he was in GREAT PAIN and then stopped moving. so i put on a glove and picked him up and he would move slightly but he would tense up and his little paws would would stretch out, he was in great pain and i dunno why, so i kept him near me and kept him warm till he started to move more and today he started to eat. But he would have trouble he shakes uncontrollably and he looks super weak. Does anyone know whats wrong???? Or what to do???? I dont want to loose my little Reginald....:(:(

You absolutely must take Reginald to a small animal/exotic vet immediately. Something is obviously wrong and he is probably suffering. Try a search on the internet for any small animal specialty vets in your area if you do not already have one that you have taken him to before, and if you cannot find on with an online search, call your regular local dog/cat vet and ask for a referral for a small animal specialist vet that they might know of. Please let us know how Reginald does. I am so sorry. :(

Oh no. Where do you live?? Are you in some kind of rural area with no one that will even look at a mouse?

YES.... its EXACTLY like that here.... i was so sad when she told me "oh... we dont look at RODENTS or reptiles" ..... and gave my baby a dirty look.... :( .... He was suffering and there was nothing i can do :( .... so i just comfort him and pet him as he fell asleep.... then buried him.... Ima miss him so much :( he was my first mouse... and we had a connection you know? haha.... Hes not gonna be in pain anymore though so im glad about that.

I am SO sorry. There is no excuse at all for anyone in the veterinary field to give any animal a dirty look. I would love to wring that woman's neck. I am very very sorry you got that kind of reception. Completely uncalled for. Unfortunately there are still some vets out there who seem to have actual contempt or zero sympathy when it comes to rodents. :(

I am so very sorry about Reginald. He deserved better and I know you loved him very much. We all love our mouse and rat babies so much, so I feel for you. You are right though, he is not in pain anymore and is happy somewhere, running and playing. I will send my thoughts out to him and wish him peace.
