Hello Storyseeker!

Story!

So nice to hear from you! The forum has been very dead lately and I am guilty as well for not being around much myself either. I pop in to see if there are any new posts, but it has been quiet here lately.

I loved seeing your update on the girls and the big news about your new kiddos that are on the way! Super! Ghost Boys back in da house indeed!

I was so disheartened reading about the a-hole college boys and their treatment of your soon-to-be new arrivals. Human cruelty and thoughtlessnes rises again. Why do humans have to be such an ugly species? :(

It makes me so depressed because the irony is that rats get so much disrespect from people and rats are one of the most loving and sweet critters on the planet. It breaks my heart to read about mistreatment of them.

Marc was just furious when I read him your post about those college boys and their proposed plans for what to "do" with the rats.

But then Marc also told me to focus on the GOOD PEOPLE, like the boy who took the rats away from the idiots and his off campus friend who tried his best to care for them. So, I guess I need to focus on the good, not the bad.

I am so looking forward to photos and more posts when you get your boys and your new girl. Advanced hellos to them all when they arrive! I could not be more thrilled! Keep us updated okay? Hugs to you and your girls!

Story, you are so right on the money. Yes, different circumstances could always change the actions.

A single person vs. a mob or a more "known" animal like a puppy or kitten...exactly. And I am very proud of that one man going against the group. Fred was right (and mom) that there are always helpers. What a great thing to remember! I will keep that in mind next time something makes me sad.

(I started volunteering for an animal rescue called Farm Sanctuary, so now I can tell myself I am a helper in my own small way. :) )

I cannot wait to see your links you posted of your new kids, yay! I will read them right now. :confetti:

SO nice to see you on the forum, Story. Really and for true, as the little kids say. :dream:

Ahhh, just read the bios on your boys and little Buttercup (soon to be Clara) and as always, they are just dolls! What ratty isn't beautiful, eh? :)

Clara's sisters were just adorable as well...heart thuds! You must be so excited for your new bubs! Hooray for the Georgia Rat Rescue!

Keep us posted on your new arrivals Story! I cannot wait for pictures of course! :sneakyhug

Aww, I read your Starfish helper story and it was wonderful! I have read that before and I always loved it. :) Thanks Story!

You are already a rescuer of bubs so you don't need to volunteer...in my opinion, with all the rescue ratties you take in, you are already doing 400 percent more than I can on a daily basis. You are a MEGA starfish helper! :D And an inspiration to me.

Marc and I live in a minimal amount of space and with minimal funds so two kiddos at a time is about all we can handle in order to make sure we can have funds for vet visits and adequate space for two ratties. So, there you go. So we are small scale here.

I will definitely post some newer photos soon of Achilles and Maximus, which I have not done in awhile. I will post a new thread for it and let you know. They are lazy, happy and spoiled boys and the apples of our eye, as always. We are ratty slaves for sure. Hee hee! :crylaugh:
