not a question but a terrible situation :/

So back when I was 17 or 18 I dated this guy.. Christian. The name is no indication of his morals.

Anyway the only thing I liked about him was that he was a hot metal head. He sucked in every other department, including not having past a 6th grade education, not having a job, being a drug user and seller, being a total rat, stealing, peeing in public, I think you get the guy.

Anyway, because I "loved" him, I almost didn't go to college to be with him. But I freaking woke up one day, having slept horribly because his mom's "boyfriend" had been doing crack all night and coughing and falling on the ground all night long. Not to mention he lived in complete squalor and kept way too many animals in cages too small and unclean... ugh. just a terrible terrible man/situation.

I decided to leave him. Best decision of my life.

Anyway.. he continues to be pretty much the lowest, most stupid, ignorant, frustrating individual I have ever come across.

CASE IN POINT:

He just called some of our mutual friends to ask for advice because his cat just delivered kittens.

I was shocked.. what do you mean his cat just delivered kittens?

So I went on facebook, the only mode of communication between us now (I changed my phone number and didn't tell him), to ask him what the **** was going on..

Me: "I heard your ct delivered kittens, please tell me you did not intentionally breed them??"

Christian: "no, she got out for 3 days... but why the **** not breed them?"

REALLY.

This is a guy who can't afford a decent living for himself, let alone any animals he keeps, he has no job and no prospects of a new job (drug user)... he is a total waste of.. ANYWAY on to the story

Me: "because there are thousands of kittens and cats in shelters either waiting to be adopted or waiting to die. Dave told me you called him basically asking what you should do.. you need to realize that these cats all have to be vaccinated and cared for, it costs money and time. Ugh this pisses me off for real.

that is why so many organizations and famous people advocate for spaying and neutering your pets, becuase letting them breed just causes more problems, you arn't watching the genetics of the cat so they might have all kinds of health issues.. and like I said there are SO MANY animals in shelters who need homes. It just seems irresponsible to me.

you of all people, an "animal lover" like me, should have known better. THis is really sad. I hope for the kitten's sake that they dont have too terrible of health problems. Send them to homes that can PAY for vet services and vacs."

****

That is as far as things got so far.

But he lives in squalor, has no money, no prospect for money unless he goes back into the old dealing game, he barely cares for the animals he has now.. and he has NO IDEA HOW TO CARE FOR A MOTHER AND NEW KITTENS. He said to my other friend he plans to "give them away for free".... He doesn't know who the male cat was...

I want to like, pretend I'm interested in one, come over (with a protective mask so I dont breathe or smell the filth), survey the area and decide if it is worth reporting, and perhaps report it.

If he is keeping other animals in terrible conditions, and if I see mold on this floor or walls, I will report him(used to see it all the time).

You can report them to animal control to show concerns to the animals. First you should have evidence..
I worried about reporting him after getting some advice, because I will have no control over what happens to the animals if they do find that the living situation is not adequate. I don't want them to go to a kill shelter-- that was the whole reason why I'm mad he let them breed.

He just defended himself by basically saying "i've always wanted to breed my cats, I love them more than the world, so why not"

/facepalm
I understand that your upset but you won't be able to change his mind probably, just hope they get good homes.

Breeding isn't against the law, so unless it is really bad conditions and you can call animal control to check on i would just hope for the best.

And you don't need evidence really for them to check up on the call, just you were told they weren't being fed and watered or something.

Thats something you should question your self about, is it better for them now or to be euthanized.
