^^ Halloween 2009... I was a "punk" and wore a mixture of my old clothes and Liam's old clothes, and did my hair and make-up like I used to do when I was sixteen.

^^ The dreds and an old friend of mine, Brytny.

^^ Dreds again, septum ring, icky old hat, and of course, Nathan.

^^ Fifteen or sixteen, this was my hair BEFORE I put the dreds in.

I am lovin' the piercings on you guys and the dreads are wicked of course.I color my hair a lot,but I dunno if I would ever have dreads.I like em' on other people though.
LOL I loved them, but they were really hard to maintain, and as I am an overall cleanly person, I couldn't stand not being able to wash my hair. I took them out every few weeks to wash them individually and put them back in. Eventually, I stopped trying. And when I was seventeen, Liam and I got pregnant with our daughter Emma and all the crazy hair and piercings went out the window so we could get good jobs and stuff, LOL. Sometimes I miss being a freak though.
um, take out dreads? Am I missing something? I thought they had to be cut out? Or am I super old school thinking?
LOL if you use your natural hair then yes, they haveto be either cut out or have an extremely extremely patient person brush them out. I had extensions, though - my hair was about chin length. What we did was dread the hair with a small loop at the top, braid my natural hair in SMALL TIGHT braids, run the braids through the loops so they fell UNDER the dreds themselves, and then use small elastic to hold them together. My hair was red under the dreds, but you couldn't tell.
I had a couple of friends with natural dreads and while they were cool, they were also kind of gross...not being able to wash my hair is one of the reasons I wouldn't do it.
That was my problem with them as well. The nice thing with the synthetics was that I COULD take them out and wash them down individually with a cloth, soap and hot water, while creating virtually zero frizz. But after awhile I got tired of not being able to shower like a normal person.
