What I am referring to is the cat and dog food recall.

"The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been informed that Menu Foods, Inc., a private-label pet food manufacturer based in Statesville, Ontario, Canada, is recalling all its "cuts and gravy" style dog and cat food produced at its facility in Emporia, Kansas between December 3, 2006 and March 6, 2007. The products are sold in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The recall was prompted by consumer complaints received by the manufacturer and by tasting trials conducted by the manufacturer. There has been a small number of reported instances of cats and dogs in the United States that developed kidney failure after eating the affected product. Ten deaths, one dog and nine cats, have reported at this time. The firm has undertaken extensive testing of the pet food products in question, but to date has been unable to find the source of the problem. "

The info you need can be found here:
Pet deaths prompt recall of pet food - Yahoo! News

http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/NEWS/2007/NEW01590.html

P&G Pet Care Announces Voluntary Participation in Menu Foods' Nationwide U.S. and Canadian Recall of Specific Canned and Small Foil Pouch 'Wet' Cat and Dog Foods

The recall covers a specific lot of food manufactured at one plant during a specific time period. ou should be able to tell which ones are affected by the product code on the can or pouch.

go here: Menu Foods Income Fund - Annual General Meeting
for the list of foods. You can click on the food and it will open up a spreadsheet with more info about the sizes and flavors affected.

Man this makes me nervous!! I feed Hampton, my cat the Nutro Natural Choice. He doesn't have teeth (long story from the people who had him before us) so I don't have a choice but to feed soft. I checked and double checked and I don't see his on there but it still just makes me nervous to give it to him now!!
