Shivering Pug, Will Not Walk
This is actually in reguards to a friend's dog. I babysat said dog last year for over a month. Durring that time, she got a major hernia which required surgery. All seemed fine after that. On Thanksgiving however, she was acting very strange. Her symptoms were:
Shivering
Not wanting to walk much
Continually sitting (she can lay down as well)
Just acting overall dull and pitiful. Not her norm at all.
At the time, another friend noticed that the outer claw on her right back leg was sooo long it was curling. The vet had clipped them days before and missed that one. We clipped it straight away, wondering if she might have landed on it and injured her foot. We then gave her the tiniest bit of tylenol (do not worry, as far as I know she does not give it to her dog all the time at all) She was fine after that. As of tonight, her symptoms are back.
I know that my friend needs to take her to a vet but could you please give any and all advice for me to pass along? Thank you for reading all that.

The 'shivering' you're describing is actually trembling, which is usually due to pain. She need a vet. Do not give any other medication, as it will mask any symptoms.
Tylenol can cause liver problems in dogs when incorrectly dosed.

I have heard a lot of conflicting opinions from both vets and pet owners on toxicity of tylenol from both vets and pet owners, however I know it is not a good idea in high doses or at all if it can be avoided. Hmm...well I will let her know.

Anyways, I thought it might be due to pain. I will tell her to definitely get to a vet if she has not already.
As I mentioned before, I have heard that about the Tylenol (an aunt actually had her dog on it due to a vet's recommendation before she found out the liver bit) but I also heard from several other vet sites and sources that it was okay if given rarely in small doses. Anyways, I shall let her know.
