Apparently after being cooped up in an aquarium for the last 5 years, Squishy decided that last night would be the perfect time to explore my bedroom.
I awoke to these weird little clumps of soggy fuzz everywhere, and I thought it was pretty odd because they weren't there when I went to bed. I was picking my stuff up so I could let Smudge out, and when I lifted up a pile of clothes.... I discovered a Squishy hiding under them!
Once I finished freaking out and realized that that thing was actually my frog, I scooped him up and put him back in his tank. He was completely covered in rabbit fur, but otherwise he seems OK! There is a 1" gap in the tank's lid for the filter, so I covered it so he can't get out again.
Do you guys think he'll be OK?! He is acting perfectly normal, but he must have fallen about 3 ft and I have no idea how long he was out! He was still moist when I found him, and he tried to escape when I picked him up so he still had energy left.
And why would he have jumped out? I know that it can be a sign of bad water quality, but I just did a water change a few days ago. I'm redecorating his tank and he got anew cave, but that's the only thing that is different.
I had been feeding him wax worms through the gap in the lid earlier yesterday, so could he have jumped out because he thought there was more food?
