Yesterday I started the daunting task of hand stripping Luna after letting her coat get waaay too long. Her coat is pretty soft like a typical short haired dog and still just as shiny and black as ever. I hear that when you clip them though, the color doesn't stay true (as in she'd turn grey.)

Is the soft, cottony feel of a clipped dog the same as the feel of a stripped dog? I mean her fur is pretty soft stripped (compared to overgrown) but its really the first wire dog I have owned and the only other ones I have seen were overgrown as well.

All I know, coats change color from puppyhood to adulthood then as they become older, I think wired and undercoats have different stories.
