Am going to share the trip of Tinkerbelle's pregnancy, labour and the first 8 weeks of the kittens lives, including pics and possibly a video of labour.

Tinkerbelle is almost 3 and this will be her 2nd litter. She is a medium coated tabby and white. The Tom Is a long haired Tabby and white, they are both gorgeous cats and the last litter was stunning (all long haired), so decided to let her have one more before she is neutered.

She has approximately 71 days left of her pregnancy. (10 days pregnant now)

Can tell she is pregnant through a number of reasons (this might help people who are unsure in the early stages, before it becomes obvious)

* I know she has mated lol
* her nipples have changed from the normal white colour, to pink
* her appetite has increased
* she is much more affectionate
* she is staying indoors for the majority of the day

Within the next week to 10 days she should start to look slightly plumper.

more info to follow :)

It's a shame you're breeding a cat of unknown origin when there are so many homeless cats just because she's pretty.

She is not of unknown origin?
And the Tom is a pedigree?

If I could take all the homeless cats and have them live with me then I would.
I am not an irresponsible person in any way shape or form.
I posted this on here so that peoplefirst time breeders could get information and hopefully a video to help them.

Sadly a lot of people do not want an older cat, if they did not buy a kitten from me they would get one from somewhere else. At least mine are kept with their mother for 8 weeks, vet checked, frontlined and wormed.
I vet all homes thoroughly and follow up to make sure all kittens have been vaccinated and neutered.

If This post is offending or upsetting people, or causing people to judge me negatively, I will remove it, but I simply thought I would be helping people

I know you are trying to help, but there is a HUGE over population in animals and by breeding you are increasing it. Great you know the origins, better than most people. But think of all the mixed breed kittens that could get a home that these kittens will get just becasue they have a pedigree. I would love to see pics, but just consider the pet population before breeding.

I know, and I find it heartbreaking that so many cats and dogs and even other animals like rabbits and guinea pigs are abandoned and in shelters.
It really is so sad, thats why I make will make sure that my kittens go to lifelong forever homes and are all neutered.

I have taken in many abandoned animals and rehomed them. Including my lovely whippet sam, who I decided to keep.
Immediately the kittens are gone Tinkerbelle will be neutered. In the meantime I hope that post can help people learn about cat pregnancy and birth and the growing up of kittens.

Sorry i took offence :/ xx

I'm glad you're going to have her spayed after this litter. A lot of us are very passionate about the whole breeding thing. I would suggest a contract or something, i know it sounds weird, but i've heard of a lot of breeders, or people who care about the pet population, doing this. Make them sign a contract saying they will get the kitten fixed and if they can no longer keep it then the kitten will come back to you. That's my suggestion at least

Thanks , have always had an agreement that any kitten bought from me is returned to myself. Have actually had 2 returned in the past, and have vaccinated, neutered and re homed them :)

While the contract is a good idea it does not always work. From my experience with my bunny Akina. The "breeder" made my cousin sign a similar agreement in which Akina was to be returned if anything happened. . . The breeder moved out of province leaving my cousin with a limited string of options. So I ended up with her.

In the case of contracts, not everybody who signs them are loyal. The customer may move or dispose of the cat without ever telling you. 18 years is a long time and many people would easily forget to keep in touch. Just something to think about.
Also, pedigreed pets are more costly than a free mutt cat. When it comes time for me to adopt my little cat friends, when I get a house and job, I want a cat that is at the end of its line. Death row kitty for me. I could care less about breed or what pedigree it is because I know those things dont matter. Most people I know would take a kitten mutt off someone for free rather than pay to buy a 'breed' of cat. The awful petstore here imported rare breeds of cat and they basically grew up in a cage in the pet store receiving store hour attention rather than a forever home because people realise cats are so accessible they don't need to dish out more than 20$ for it.
All I'm saying is I hope you get Tinkerbell spayed following her litter. Maybe keep the kittens for longer than 8 weeks so they are super adoptable and move on. :)

If it is done and explained properly. A lot of research must be done to make a good video covering common and difficult questions and scenarios. Otherwise its just another video of someone's kittens. It needs to stand out and have a good title and speak to its audience rather than lay dormant.

I'm a little shocked that this was deliberate. I came on here because my cats is also pregnant (5 weeks) through my sheer idiocy. While I do feel excited about having little fluffy bundles of terror running around in a few months, I worry about the life they'll have ahead of them and if my girl will make it through delivery without complications. If it's too late now, fair enough, educate. But if she doesn't turn out to be pregnant please consider doing what's best for her and get her spayed instead.

Just wondering...

You say the tom cat has a pedigree...what breed is he then? All you said was he is a long hair tabby and white.Sounds like almost every other cat out there. What makes him so special to breed?

What exactly was your purpose to breed? Also kittens here are free almost all of the time (unless they are a pure breed Siamese or something) and so people are more likely to get a free kitten off classified ads then pay for one, especially when it is nothing special (meaning not a pure bred or fancy breed).

Just sayin'.

Hi, the male is a maine ****, I didnt bother mentioning pedigree before because he is not a show cat or anything, and I didnt think it was relevent.

Im sorry if people do not agree with my decision to allow tinkerbelle this litter before she is spayed. But I refuse to continually defend myself here.

I posted so that people can watch the labour and see what to expect when the time comes, and for people to enjoy learning about the developments of both the queen and kittens.

Well just so people are aware, there are already zoodles and zoodles of videos and information written about mixed breed pregnant cats because they're everywhere. Many of these are made and written by veterinary professionals. Prenatal development of kittens and their subsequent birth is very heavily covered in written and visual literature.

If anyone really wishes to see a litter of kittens born, I encourage you to go and volunteer at your local shelter or animal rescue. These pregnant animals could desperately use someone to help them through this, and many shelters euthanize puppies and kittens if there are no fosters because they often become ill in a shelter environment and taken up cages for weeks and weeks on end until they become adoptable (causing the death of other adoptable animals).

If you cared that much you wouldn't be making even more kittens.

I am glad to read the other posts here and that most people realize this sort of deliberate breeding is wrong.

Thank you all for being so nasty and unsupportive I will not bother to post here anymore as I can see that nobody is interested in doing anything other than being self rightous.
Im sure you have all rescued EVERY single one of your pets and HAVE NEVER bought an animal from anywhere.

Tinkerbelle will have wonderful kittens that will all go to wonderful forever homes, one of which I will also keep myself.
I can see there is no need for further posts here

Yep all my cats, past and present, are rescues off the "street" or from shelters.

It just...boggles the mind why you see the need to make more kittens. Those "wonderful homes" you speak of could have been given to cats or kittens already born, and wasting their lives away in shelters, or sitting on death row.

And the worst part is you still don't understand why we are upset.
