Hey guys, recently I have been fed up with my water bottles I use for my dwarves Jiggles and Panda. I give them new water after cleaning them out each day but I've noticed the insides and the "stoppers" or "balls" are all grimy and gross. I pitched them both and bought brand new water bottles for both hamsters.
They are the blue hanging kind that fit nicely into critter trails cages. However, for some reason, I find that the ball is harder to move for my dwarves compared to the old ones, and it appears that it is hard for my hammies to get the water out.
Did I perhaps buy the wrong kind? Clearly they are for hamsters because they are for the exact cages I own, but both Panda and Jiggles are really struggling and not getting enough water out.
DO I need to 'break in' the dispenser part or remove something? Of course when I squeeze the bottle, water comes out, but I don't want to have to bottle feed my girls! They drink so much at all hours of the day and night!
Any advice appreciated! I will take a picture if necessary.
