What's your first pet story?

Getting your first ever pet has significance in all of our lives.

For me, I wasn't allowed to have a pet until I was a teenager. When I was younger, I lived with an extended family and they had no want for pets because they'd had several outdoor cats that eventually went missing. After one particular bout where I'd been begging to have a kitty, my mom came home with a cat in a cardboard box and a litter box. Now, that kitty is almost 15 years old, and he's been such an awesome friend.

So what's your first pet story?

Hello Amanda

You have a great story!! when i got my pet i am only ten year old. My father come home with little puppy one day. He is seven year's old, he is now my family member. His name is Rocky and he is so cute or caring we have lot's of memory with him.

Thanks & Regards !!!
I didn't get my first pet until I bought my first house at the age of 21. His name was 'Kiddy'. Hew grew to be the biggest, baddest cat on the block. One day he chased 2 Chows out of the yard! He wasn't afraid of anything. He live 16 years. Eventually he got mouth cancer and had to be put down 2 weeks after my first child was born. Needless to say, a very emotional time for me. That was 17 years ago and we still talk about him often :)
I've had pets all my life, but I never got to pick out my own and make that bond, my mom is a huge animal lover and get in over her head so she was always throwing animals at us because she wanted to keep them all! not understanding that 3 cats/dogs per child when you have 4 children all in the same house hold is over whelming... I moved out at 17 lol waited a year before stubbling onto some unwanted puppies in the classifieds :) thats where I met Abby I saw the ad and brought her home! Boyfriend who had already lived with me at my moms saw potential for animal crazy in me loved her! she is a chiweenie! she doesn't bark, potty trained at 5 months old, can do all sorts of tricks and is stupid amounts of cute! I already had pleanty of animal training skills from living at home but this was so much better because i was finally able to have something that was all mine!
It was 4 years ago, when I suddenly saw a beagle (i guess he was just weeks old) beside my neighbors trash, so when i asked my neighbor if he owned this pup then i adopt him and now he was my best friend! I named him Boston because he has a B-like white shaped color on his right leg
