Wheels

it depends where the chinchillas located. The wheel noise doesn't bother me. I have my chinchillas cages in me my bedroom. I have both the wheel inside the cage & the large ball for them to roll around the floor for some free time. Every once in a while I do let my chinchillas roam my bedroom free for about 30 min before my kids get home. I try & give them as much exercise as they need, to get there energy out.

Wheel? No. Totally bad for their backs. Flying saucer type runners work awesome though.

Generally you shouldn't put them in a ball because of poor vent.
