I have two bettas, a male and a female, in diffrent tanks.

What do you need to know? They're pretty easy to take care of I think. I just feed mine betta pellets, and frozen foods like bloodworms that you can get at the pet store to mix things up a bit. Mine are each in a 5 gal tank, so I don't change the water too often. I have to clean the females tank more often then the males because the females will lay eggs sometimes, even if there's no male around.

So I dunno, do you have any specific questions?
I have 3 male bettas. They are named Mesmerize,Illusion and Icey. They all have different personalities.

I am sure you know that you cannot put more then one male in a tank or else they will brutally fight. Also females should not be kept with males, unless your breeding and then the female has to be removed as soon as the eggs are layed or the male will beat up on her too.

Do not have any sharp objects in the tank, including hard plastic plants because they will tear the betta's fins.
I am down to a single male betta but I've had several in the past :). My current guy is a crowntail who lives in a heavily planted 10-gallon.

If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

I have a beautiful male betta! He is such a character! They are very beautiful fish :D

You can also use the search bar up at the top of each page...type in what it is you want to know about.
Its great when you need to find information on a certain topic. Great tool for researching on animal/pet care.
I have one D'Argo and my son has one LongFin...both males

I used to breed them, but just keep them as pets for now
I have a single male crowntail, and they are quite easy to take care of. Above posters have given good information regarding their care, so I shall just wish you and your future friend good luck.
Female bettas lay eggs with or without male bettas?! lol Oh my cause if they do that's got to be annoying for some people who put female bettas in fish takes with other fish, unless of course other fish find the eggs and eat them.
Yeah, of course the eggs can't hatch because they're not fertalized. My female is in her own tank so I just clean it out after she lays eggs, but she does find and eat some of her own eggs sometimes
Haha I was going to ask "The eggs don't hatch right?!" But I thought it'd be a stupid question and at the time I couldn't think of the word "fertilized" lol I feel bad for all the bettas at the pets stores. All in those little cups with blue dye and all dark looking. The people at the stores don't seriously open them all up every day and feed them? Theres so many of them and I even see dead ones. It's so sad!!

Just to let you know, the "blue dye" is Methylene blue which is used to help control diseases. Though I don't think it should be used so much it's definitely not there to make the water pretty ;).
Oh really? They used to not use that. I wonder what changed lol. Thanks!
I do I have 4 beautiful bettas all in diff.tanks.They are easy to care for and a joy to have.I feed mine betta pellets and sometimes freeze-dried blood worms.I have mine in 1g or 2.5g tanks.I profere the 2.5g but one of my boys freaks out in any tank that isn't 1g.Werid I know.Never keep 2 males together.
I used to have a Betta. BUT. My brother poured the whole Food container into the Bowl. I was Very Upsett.
:(
I have 1 betta but have had a few in my days. I had one that lived 5 years. Two things they really like; a mirror is one, I submerge and prop a bird mirror in the corner. It gives them something to live for, they protect their property and it keeps them alert. The male I have now Benny actual sleeps right next to the mirror at night. They also like live plants, they will swim in and out of them, (your right the plastic ones will catch the fins/tails and rip them), they will even pick at the roots. I have always had a light and heater (a regular 10 gal goldfish tank) they seem to live a very long time in this environment. Good luck
