I have a 5 month old female dwarf cross, I took her the vet yesterday for her second calicivirus vaccination. She was normal. Then we got her out of the hutch this morning and she is avoiding putting weight on her right front paw, she is eating normally and still moving around just not as much. Should I take her to the vet immediately or wait 24 hours for any improvement?
Did she have anything else done at the vet? A nail trim or anything like that? You could call the vet, like the previous poster mentioned, and ask them if maybe the shot could have caused her leg to be sore.
I'd keep a close eye on her and take her in to the vet again if she doesn't improve soon. With rabbits I've learned that it's usually better to get them to the vet and be on the safe side than to wait too long to have things treated. They can be sensitive little critters.
Hopefully it's nothing serious. I hope she's feeling better soon.
