I'm lucky, in my area for some unknown reason rats have been easy to place in homes.. Good homes, too, not weirdo homes. Your story reminds me of my surprise mouse litter I had a couple years back. Fun stuff. I had no idea what I was doing.

Babies are just like mini-adults once they hit 5-6 weeks. Don't feel discouraged because they are babies, but do what you feel is right.

Haha, when my rat had 11, she did the separate group feeding.. I started googling immediately to figure out if she was trying to let some of the litter die or what! Lol. Turned out she was just being a great rat momma.. They know what they're doing more often than I do.. ha.
