Hi thre all.. am new to this site and was looking around for some assistance on taking care of a extremely young pup which we found a week back abandon at a park. We decided to take it in and care for it as there was alot of thicks on IT.
The following day we took it to SPCA which is not too far from where we stay. But the person incharge told US that she is too young to be here as there are all sorts of dogs coming in (and its dangerous for her well being) and if we could keep her for a few more weeks, and when she gets vaccinated then we could send her back if we changed our mind of not keeping her. We have named her Oreo as we were told its better to address her as early as possible.
Initially, we fed her with milk which are for young pups and after a week, she started to feed on young pup food (which we soaked in milk) She still maintains her feed of abt 3-4 times a day. When she came over, i left her in a box and then the next day, i went to get a bigger box for her but she some how grew out of it and does not wanna sleep in it! So the next alternative was to put in the the toilet. Which is only used by her to sleep. She cannot be kept alone for too long as she gets cranky and starts to BARK, her barks can go SUPERSONIC and it irritates my better half. We did try to leave her unattended for like 10mins the most as i think her bark may be heard frm the outside by others.
Some one did tell to get a Crate. But i am trying to figure out, if she cannot stick herself in a box, how can she stay in a crate?
Currently, she has poop around the house.. We have to monitor her movements as she some times go on SILENT and next thing we know she has done some bizzness some where... We have to also removed almost all the carpets in the house as she likes them and she chooses that over newspapers!! Argh...
Question : Does she need to be taken to the toilet to do her bizzness on the newspapers after she is done with her food? I cannot take her outside as my compound does not have any grass and its not safe to take her outside till she gets vaccinated.
I do hope to get some assistance frm anyone who could give me some feed back.. Much appreciated ... Do not worry abt climate as i am frm Malaysia and its pretty humid in its own ways ..
Thx to who ever that replies to this post... Rgds...
